Yes, no animation, live-action, using stop motion and people, real places and real boxes (why not?)! It is not a Pixar's official project, but a result of the passion and dedication (also some considerable free time) from Jonason Pauley and Jesse Perrotta, from USA, with 19 and 21 years old respectively.
It was necessary 2 years to remake the movie and they made all the scenes in a way it was possible to use the original audio. The original voices and scores, are all there.
Normally when something like this happens all the work is lost, after all the owners of the movie tend to see this as a threat, something like "oh my god, they are promoting our movie for free and passionately, no, no, no, no, we must sue these people!", but that was not the case here, Pixar not only approved the movie, they even authorized it to be in it's full form and splendor in YouTube.
You can check it below with the original English audio but if you search in Youtube is possible to find and many other languages. Some scenes where really well done and that one of Mrs. Nesbitt is still one of my favorites. And the hat look good XD
